Problems we face
We all can remember when our skin was smooth and supple, then came the effects of aging and the elements began to set in.
At first lines appear around our eyes and lips. Then as the collagen beneath our skin wears out, deeper wrinkles begin to appear. Surface irregularities such as pigment discolorations and acne scaring may also occur because our skin becomes less defensive.

How Laser Skin Resurfacing is done
Laser therapy has produced the latest technology that offers a controlled beam of light and energy that reaches a precise depth of penetration. We offer light, medium or deep peels. The laser gently vaporizes “dead cells”, acne-scars, lines, wrinkles and surface pigmentation problems to reveal fresh skin underneath. Scars are removed in a rapid, bloodless fashion achieving excellent results. Once the outer layer of skin has been removed, the healing process will yield new cells that are rich in youthful, softer, smoother and tighter appearance.

Pre-Treatments

Skin Preparation: Skin care treatments and products are needed to help inhibit Melanin formation and or convert coloured melanin to colourless melanin before a treatment.

Limitation of Sun Exposure: The formation of pigment forming cells (Melanocytes) is induced by UV radiation, therefore sun protection before and after treatment is of great importance.

Stimulation of Collagen
Recent studies have shown that the laser stimulates and activates the natural production of collagen, creating a tightening and smoothing of the skin.
Safety: This system is safe, accurate and provides softer, smoother, youthful-appearing skin with little or no discomfort. There is no thermal discomfort, since the laser is a “cold laser”. The colour of a person’s skin makes no difference with this laser therefore all skin types can be treated effectively.

Recovery Time
Light Peels:
Has little or no downtime, you can return to normal activities the following day. The light peel acts on the superficial layer of the epidermis.

Medium to Deep Peels:
Once the laser energy is increased, we can accomplish a deeper peel. Following the procedure, the treated areas are kept moist with ointment. Sun protection should be applied and sun exposure should be avoided. The laser is gentle on the skin, little swelling and redness can be expected. Swelling would go away after a few hours. Redness fades to a normal skin tone in four to six weeks.
The treated areas can resemble that of sunburn for no more than (3) three days, during which exfoliating and peeling takes place. Basically, this recovery time is faster than other methods of resurfacing that is compared with this procedure.
Over the next few weeks, your fresh, new skin will return to a normal tone revealing a softer, smoother, younger look. Complete healing is accomplished in (2) two to (8) eight days. Our clients love their results, with some concluding that they actually feel younger.
